Jim Bittermann

Jim Bittermann is CNN's Senior European correspondent based in Paris. A veteran journalist, since joining CNN in 1996 he has covered the death of Princess Diana, the bombardment of Kosovo, the earthquake in Turkey, and the soccer World Cup among other stories. He frequently spearheads CNN's coverage of Pope John Paul II, often traveling on the Papal Plane. He won a Cable Ace award for CNN's coverage of the civil war in Zaire and his long form projects include the award-winning Time/Newstand program "Paris and Washington: A Tale of Two Cities". An experienced facilitator, Jim has been a panel moderator at events such as the World Economic Forum at Davos.
